Glomerular nephritis (GN), also known as glomerulonephritis, in s term used to refer several kidney diseases (usually both kidneys are affected). Glomerular nephritis is mainly cause by inflammation of the glomerulus or small vessels in the kidneys. There are two types of glomerulonephritis, acute ones and chronic ones.

The cause of Nephritis may be a number of factors including infections, auto-immune disorders and other diseases. Of all men who suffer nephritis, 5% of whose diseases are hereditary.

For the people who are attacked by glomerulonephritis, 40% of them find blood in their urine and 90% of whom have edema. In some severe cases, the edema may occur all over the body. Other symptoms include ascites, abdominal distension, high blood pressure and headache.
